Renée Anne Bouffard-McManus began drawing, painting and making as a young child. She is a self-taught artist from Northern Ontario and lives in Toronto with her husband and three children. Renée Anne paints from her home studio where she creates original pieces and produces prints, textiles and paper goods. Her work communicates a deep love for the natural world through whimsical and gentle, impressionist watercolour paintings.
Renée Anne's art practice is informed by her interests in community based creative practices and the stewardship of that work. Finding some amazing opportunities through online platforms, she has been able to grow as an artist alongside other creatives. She is deeply shaped by an appreciation of community-in-collaboration, which for her includes issues of justice. She is moved by her personal experience with Huntington's disease and time spent with underserved vulnerable populations.
Renée Anne's pieces have been used by designers Emily Henderson and Jillian Harris, available in Target stores and seen on HGTV, FOX and the BBC. Her work has been featured on sites such as Apartment Therapy, A cup of Jo, Babble by Disney Interactive Media Group, Poppytalk and is included in the books "The New Design Rules", the New York Times bestseller "STYLED" and BabieKins Magazine. Her work is licensed through companies like Minted, Fy!, Mixtiles Art and Pulp Print Shop.
